Decorative rack with folded earring cards and other jewelry, version 2

I took all the great comments I received on my Multi Use Rack with Folded Earring Cards and fixed my display.

I did use a template for the holes, (an old plastic earring card) and I cut the cards all the same size too.

I added some bracelets and anklets, just to get them up off the table for a change.

Stunning Makeover

Lynne! I really liked the first version, but this one absolutely surpasses it. It's so elegant and lovely, and the white cards don't distract the eye away from your colorful jewelry.

Really beautiful earring display and cards - you'll have to let us know if it sells more jewelry for you too!

Version 2 Rocks! One more idea to share...

Lynn, your rack looks awesome now that you've switched to the one-color cards! I also poke the holes in mine - only instead of a safety pin, I use a push-pin. This allows me to poke straight thru the paper easily. I used to use a safety pin too, or drapery pin - whatever I could find handy - now I keep push pins handy and find it easier to fiddle with.

If I might just offer one further suggestion, though this is strictly personal preference - if you extend the length of your cards, so that that the entire earring lays against the solid white, your earrings may be more noticable from a further distance at your selling venues, and make the bead colors really stand out. Also, I agree with the earlier post that they look best if the cards are all the same size.

If you don't want to print anything on the front, you can also either print the back with your contact info (online shop URL or email addy) or print small stick-on labels to further promote yourself!

Meanwhile, just as it is, your rack look beautiful! I would definitely stop to check it out at a craft show or home party! Best of luck with your pretty creations!

Hi Lynne,
Years ago, I had printed up business-card-size earring cards - the size of a business card, but using a lighter card stock. I had them printed such that my business name & slogan was on the lower half of the card when held vertically. What I then did was fold these cards in half so that my business name/slogan would be on the front, like a horizontal gift card. To use them, I either punched small holes thru both thicknesses or in the bottom half of the card only, to display earrings, OR, I could fold the card in half and punch a hole thru both thicknesses in the upper left to use as a hangtag for necklaces & bracelets. I then wrote the materials/gemstones/metal used inside the card (like: sterling with amethyst, glass, & garnet beads). This was before the days of good at-home printing, so now you could easily do this on your own.

I did try the longer length, but the earrings didn't lay right, and it looked too crowded for some reason. But thanks for your help.

Colors

I love the look of the stand, as well. I am using something that looks much like it, so I noticed it right away. I also liked the idea of the longer card in the back so the earrings have something behind them, making them more visible.

My suggestion...don't make that color white. It is too stark a contrast from a distance. Pick a soft color that reflects your style. The color that came to mind for me was a very soft earthy green with texture. From a distance it would draw the buyers eye to you and therefore your jewelry.
