Security for Your Jewelry Display Trays

Here's what I did to prevent shoplifting and to keep my jewelry neatly in my black display trays:
I purchased 1/4 - 1/2" wide black stretchy headbands from the local drugstore (CVS carried them), and wrapped one widthwise around the tray insert, at the top of the tray insert.
To display my necklaces in these trays, I then took the smallest black electrical zip fasteners (available at Lowe's or Home Depot) and used them to "zip" the toggle clasp of each necklace to the stretchy headband. Then I clipped the end of each zip fastener to make it flush with the tray.
I could then stand the tray on end and lean it against my display, or leave it lying flat on the tabletop, and the jewelry would stay in place.
Customers could still handle the jewelry but to try it on, I would need to remove the necklace by clipping it with my wirecutters.
I did the same thing for pendants but I put 3 - 4 headbands on each tray insert at even spaces. This allowed the pendants to stay put.
