I use VistaPrint to do most of my business identity pieces...business cards, magnets, letterhead, etc. If you sign up with them they will constantly send you free offers or greatly reduced discount prices.

When they have 100 of their standard postcards on sale for free (you just pay shipping), I go into creator mode.

You have an option of designing the card yourself. I create a design on 1/4 of the card, using my logo, company name, etc. These are printed in full color glossy on the front. You can get black and white printing (I just put my contact info on the back) for free.

Then I just grabbed the earring card design and copied and pasted it four times - once in each corner of the postcard. Repeat for the back with just your contact info.

I use the tiny hole punch (see a scrapbook supply store), but I like the idea I read to print a small (*) in the space to line up the holes (next time!). I ended up with 400 earring cards for the cost of shipping (less than $10!).

When I get them I have to cut them in quarters and punch the holes, and I do also have the peel and stick plastic holders for display in case I need to use them.

They are full color, glossy, professionally printed for next to nothing!

I just changed my company name and I still have a ton of them left over from the first time, but I totally will do this again!

Do you actually print the same items four times on one postcard. Then what do you mean by:

Then I just grabbed all the pieces and cut and pasted it four times in each corner of the postcard. Repeat for the back with just your contact info.

I really like your idea, I also use vistaprint.

Printing Multiple Jewelry Tags Per Card
by: Rena

Hi Veronica,

I haven't seen a photo of Erin's card setup, but it sounds like it's similar to how Pamela Vale does hers (see Pamela's photos in the following article):

Jewelry Tags from Business Cards.

Clarification
by: Erin Prais-Hintz

Thanks for asking me to clarify the instructions! I actually design the earring card to be one quarter of the postcard size. I set up the background, text, logo, etc and then orient it to be in one corner of the card. Then I select all the pieces and copy them together. I paste them 3 more times and orient them in the right place on the card so that there is one earring card per quadrant. I just sent Rena a picture of the front and back so that she might be able to add it to this post.
Enjoy the day!

Pictures Just Added!
by: Rena

I've just added the three gorgeous photos Erin sent, showing

-The finished earring cards, front and back;

-The front of the postcard, before being cut apart into 4 earring cards;

-The back of the postcard, before being cut apart.

If you haven't seen these photos yet, it's well worth going back to Erin's earring card article to have a look.

Thanks so much for sending in your photos, Erin!

Your earring cards are absolutely beautiful and very professional, and having a visual of your project is a tremendous help.

Thanks for the update!

LOVE IT!
by: Cindy of CC Creations

I love this idea. I'm behind on reading Rena's website. I just did a google search and can only find 1" clear earring cards. Can you tell me where you purchase your cards. 1" is just too small. You must be using a size closer to 2-2 1/2" to be able to fit one standard size post card cut 4 times to each earring card. I just love it. Didn't know they had clear adhesive earring cards. I always hated using my business cards because they don't last in the "weather conditions" of Houston. But with the plastic, they will now be execellent!!
Thanks!

Cards for lever back earrings?
by: Francesca

I love all your ideas and they have worked beautifully for me but I am having a heck of a time figuring out how to make these for me for my leverbacks?

Leverbacks and Plastic Holders
by: Erin Prais-Hintz

In response to the questions above...
For leverbacks, I punch a regular sized hole in the card at the point where the leverback will hang. It might cut into the contact info, but I find that it is okay.
As for the plastic holders...I get them in the 1" size and cut them in half because it is usually not necessary to have the whole inch on the card, but it will fit. I still have not gone through the whole set of 100 hangers that I bought two years ago and I only use them if they will in fact hang on something.
Enjoy the day!

Earring Cards for Leverbacks
by: Wynham Designs

I hold one leverback earwire against my homemade, cardstock, business card size, earring card. I lightly mark where the top most point of the earring wire will go into the card and holding the earring wire steady, I mark the bottom most point where the earwire hits the card. Then, using a standard size, hand held, hole punch I make a hole there. Moving up the card, I use a sewing awl or large sewing needle to make the other hole. I insert the earring wire to make sure of the "fit". If necessary, I enlarge the bottom hole for the spring bottom to go through. (This hole may have to be moved upwards slightly.) Easy peasy! I keep one hole punched card to use as a template for all earwires of the same design. Saves time and trouble for subsequent uses.

I've be racking my brain for the best earring card display and I really like what you came up with. Going to try this at home first as a trial run, but will definitely use the professional approach. Thanks for the instructions

Brilliant idea!
by: Alison in the UK

Doh! I wish I'd read your idea before I ordered my latest business cards from Vistaprint! I think your idea of using their post cards like this is inspired! No wasted space! I will definitely try this idea! I recently had a set of postcards made just for one venue (a monthly farmer's market) that show the dates I will be at the market, plus my products and etsy details, etc. Lots more people picked up postcards than usual!

Thank you!
