How to Make Post / Stud Earring Cards
This tutorial will show you how to make packaging for post or stud earrings.
It is really simple, and they display very well at craft shows because they elevate the earrings to catch the light, and the eyes of your customer!
List of materials
* printable business cards
* computer and printer
* a tack or pin
* scissors
Basic Steps
Step # 1You will need to design how you want your packaging to look, and decide what information you want to display.
Your information has to be placed on the card vertically.
Lay it out so that the product name is toward the top of the card, and your banner, or logo and shop information is on the bottom half of the card.
Print them up!
Once you are satisfied with the layout, tear apart all the cards, stack them up, and use a tack to poke two holes where you want your earrings to be on the card.
I put my holes about a centimeter down from the top of the card, and just above the product name and information.
You have to leave some head room at the top for a fold.
I can poke through about 10 cards at a time. The first time you do this, you might want to do one at a time to make sure you like how everything looks once it is assembled.
Step # 2Take a card and fold it in half.
Holding the card so that it is in a folded position, fold down the open ends at about a centimeter or so. Using a straight edge will help you get a nice crisp fold.
Then you are going to take those edges and hold them together, cutting a small slit about 3/4 of the way to the bottom fold.
Step # 3Fold the card so that the two edges with the slit are facing each other, and push the edges together at the slots.
This is an insert slot "A" into slot "B" kind of thing.
Then add your earrings to the card, and you are done!
