My new card design

I would like a critique of my new business cards. I played around with a bunch of different layout ideas before I settled on this one.

I wanted to be sure to include the MJF logo and a picture of one of my pendants.

Because of the first time purchase offer I did not spend very much on these so if it looks like a redesign is needed that's OK.

This is just copied from the sample PDF. The actual cards should be much crisper.

If they are not, I know who I will _not_ be ordering from in the future.

The photo of your lovely fantasy piece is perfect to communicate the style and purpose of your work - which I think is important in helping people remember why they have your card, or showing new folks why they definitely want your work! :o)

You've also got all the helpful contact info.

The only thing I would consider changing has to do with your fonts.

I think that when there's more than one font in a design, they do better when they're noticeably different from each other.

To me, the two different fancy fonts compete with each other on the card, and might do better if one font were fancy and the other font more of a plain, sans-serif style.

Otherwise, it's a very nice artist's business card! Thank you for sharing it here!

Love the MF in the upper left corner, great visual, I'd make that a little bigger. I agree about the fonts. Pendant is a beauty too.

The polymer clay piece could be a little bit bigger- and look like a lot of fancy writting- keep it simple. You want people to remember you unique art work not the fancy lettering. Good luck!

You do have a unique style of type in the top left of the card. That should be your only stylized type - the rest of the type should be a non-script type face - there is too much going on in the card - you need to make it simple and easier to read. The bottom line is very hard to read. Use the white space to your advantage.

I agree with the others that the fonts are too fancy, and there are too many different types.
It seems at first glance that there are too many letters (some of that may have to do with the busy fonts), but I would consider putting your URL with the other contact info and deleting the "phone:" & "email:" words - it's fairly obvious what those are. If you want to keep the URL with your name, maybe put the word Artist below it so it the flow seems more natural.

ReDesign of business card

Not only do I dabble in Jewelry Making, but by profession I am a Administrative Assistant - with a knack for Desktop Publishing, with that being said - All day long I look at business cards from salesmen / vendors. So here's my "Novice" opinion - 1) Change the fonts to all match, 2) Keep your logo the same - I love the design, 3) Group your Business information together - Phone numbers, Email & Website - Maybe to the bottom left hand side, 4) Keep your name and title centered and seperate in the layout.

I can see what you are all talking about when you say that the card design looks too busy. I have created a two sided redesign that eliminates to fancy fonts and simplifies the layout. I'll make that a seperate post - a new approach to my business card.
