Japan inspired booth design

For my business, Paper Demon Jewelry, I make jewelry entirely out of Japanese washi (mulberry) paper and vintage Japanese fabric.

I get all my materials in Japan. So, I wanted to evoke Japan in my booth.

I used a red and black color scheme, and incorporated obi fabric from my collection.

I use bamboo displays and branches.

I also used some old shutters from the re-cycle shop and painted them a glossy black, to hang earring cards from.

Japanese elegance

What an attractive way to make your booth go with your jewelry theme.

The red-and-black color scheme is awesome, and I love how you used authentic elements like obi fabric and bamboo.

I think your shutters are an excellent earring display - your earrings really pop out against them, even from across the room.

Thanks for sharing your lovely and elegant Japan-inspired jewelry booth, Karen! I can tell a lot of thought and time went into it.

Japanese influence

I like your set-up! It does evoke a sense of the orient when you look at it, but it's not overdone. The shutters are a great idea and look great.....smart woman with insight, you are!

thanks, and a tip

Thank you! I got the shutter idea from another jewelry seller in Champaign Illinois. Both the shutters and the black spray paint came from Habitat Re-Store carpentry and hardware section and the whole thing cost about $5.00 and took one morning to make. To keep the shutter slats from flipping up and down, I wood-glued the top slat to the frame on the back before spray painting.

Update:

Karen generously shares the next version of her booth in Redone Japan-Inspired Jewelry Booth Using Lamps.

She has great examples of repurposing items into jewelry displays that fit her theme.
