My first booth!
I have just recently started making my childhood dream a reality in starting my own jewelry and home decor business, which is home, show, and online based. I really had no idea where to begin with the display other than I knew I needed a canopy because my first show was outside, so that was my starting point and I worked from there. The obvious - you need a table a place to sit a place for customers to pay and places to display. Here is what I accomplished. Oh, not to mention doing this on a budget can be beyond difficult!
Pink EZ-Up Canopy - $50 at Academy
Folding 6ft Table - $40 Walmart/Target, basically anywhere
Tablecloth - I made my own from fabric purchased at a local craft store but unless you LOVE sewing I would pay a little extra to have a seamstress do this for you, it was (for a lack of other words) NOT fun! But be sure to make your tablecloth floor length so you can use your under-table space to store all your boxes and totes during the show, and they are close at hand when its time to leave!
Peg Board Display - I purchased the Peg Board in one large sheet at Lowe's for around $20. My husband attached 2x2s to the back for legs to help some of the weight so that I could just use a bungee cord to attach the top to the canopy frame. This worked great and was very stable, without some sort of legs it would be WAY too heavy and most likely break your canopy!
Grid Display - I purchased a wire rack display from a wholesale supplier to house all my other non jewelry items. Store Supply Warehouse is a great place to get display items, they are affordable and have lots of different accessorizing options to make their items work for what you need.
Screens - I purchased two OLD screens at a Antique mall and attached pink feather boas to the frame to grab buyers attention. I used paper clips to loop thru the screen and hang jewelry on. All the shoppers LOVED this idea!
Tabletop Displays - Instead of spending big bucks on "Jewelry Displays" I got trays, Platters, Backsets, etc on clearance at the end of the summer and used vase beads, beans, coffee, etc as a filler and displayed jewelry in those. It was perfect because I was able to stay with my Hot Pink and Animal Print theme and only pay about $2 per tray! You can also use your empty boxes, etc to raise up some displays to add height and interest in your tabletop, just be sure to bring extra fabric to put over them. But this is a FREE way to add risers to your table.
