Earthly Expressions' nature-inspired jewelry booth

I've only started selling jewelry and doing crafts shows this past Fall. With little money to spend on fancy displays, I needed to get creative.

Since my jewelry is nature inspired, I thought the outdoors would be a good place to get ideas.

So my children and I ventured out to our favorite beach (on Jekyll Island, Georgia) and began to look for some beautiful driftwood. It was not as easy as I thought since most of the wood that looks like it is just lying there, is really still attached to the tree under the sand! Fortunately we got very lucky and found two beautiful logs.

The great thing about driftwood is that it's soft enough push tacks into, which makes hanging and adjusting jewelry so easy.

I then searched for items around my home.

A large vase with bendable plastic branches was excellent for hanging pendants on chains.

A large candle holder made a great earring and bracelet display (and it looks like a dream catcher.)

Large shells are great as well.

I also just started using inexpensive glass vases (that I plan to fill with sand) to hang my shorter necklaces or wrap around twice with my longer ones.

Another display I have been using is large frames covered with material (everything from the craft store, with the coupon of course) and placing on a table easel.

I keep forgetting to photograph my booth and I needed a photo recently for a show I was applying to, so these photos are taken in my driveway. Oh well, gotta do what ya gotta do!

Hope you find some of these ideas useful. Happy beading!

Your display is wonderful ! I love the colors - turquoise and brown definitely look good together -- its a good idea to use natural materials in your diplay and I love the gemstones you use in your jewelry, and the swirly silver accents

You've inspired me to make some unique jewelry displays

Debbie's jewelry is unique and eye catching. I love how special her pieces become when you choose your own stones to create something to give away as a gift or keep for yourself!! Her pieces are beautiful and made with love! Great job Debbie!

What a gorgeous display. Nature's simplicity makes such a lovely backdrop. That's really the key, too. Nothing overpowers your jewelry. It's all just a nice simple and elegant compliment.

Good luck at the shows!

LOVE THIS!
by: Kelley

What lovely ideas!
I design natural gemstone jewelry and have been looking at similar display ideas with neutral but effective ideas and really love what you've done . . . although I tend to love rocks.

WHERE did you get the plastic tree branches?

I've used real branches and they obviously don't hold up well so if you could pass along where you purchased them, I'd be very grateful.

Great ideas - thank you for sharing!

Thanks for the comment
by: Debbie

Hi Kelley,
I've had the plastic branches forever and I have been trying to find more to create another display. I have made some changes to the one in the photo. I now have my branches in a ceramic planter with plaster of paris in the bottom (for added weight) and river rock covering the plaster. This works so much better when I am doing outside shows and big wind comes along! Thanks for the comments.
