"...For I have no Red Rose to Give to Her"
My daughter found for me several of these small square boxes, she knows that I am always looking for packaging for my one-off jewellery pieces and these are just perfect for earrings and pendants.
The left wing is covering the whole opening of the box, the right wing has a triangular shape. A little magnetic button closes the box securely.
When I had made the earrings I needed a box to send them to an exhibition. They needed to sit in the box safely to look the same after their trip across the country.
I took out the padded inset, and as I keep clear plastic sheets from other packaging I thought of a clear holding device for them. To fold the plastic you measure where the lines need to go, score them on front or back with a needle tool and fold accordingly.
This can be made for any box shape.
The background looked a bit boring, so I turned a drawing of roses similar to my earring design into a black and white image, decreased the opacity with the help of the photoshop program and printed it in the size necessary for the inner of the box.
Not in the photo: I added the title of my earrings to the left wing of the lid, written with gold pen.
Title of my earrings:
"...for I have no red rose to give to her"
