Nancy Abron's "Less than Perfect Angel" booth at her first jewelry event
I have just attended my first jewelry event, it was a girls night out for a non-profit domestic abuse center that had their resale store burn down earlier this year.
There were over 75 booths there on two floors!
Hundreds of women were waiting in line to get in, they had raffles with money, and all vendors donated a piece of their product for the charity.
The most inexpensive things we did made an impact on our display:
We had a banner made at a office supply store made for $50.00, and bought a cheap tripod stand to hold it.
We went out our local printer and had 100 bookmarks made for less than $30.00 that we gave to everyone stopping to see the display.
The Container Store has the best jewelry displays that are just like the ones in the store that are not expensive at all.
If you know a person that has a small jewelery store - ask them if they have a traveling case. Our friends volunteered to let us use the case for the evening, so for their trouble we put their business cards there along with flyers of an event they were having the next week.
The display has a silk piece of fabric with boxes underneath to highlight the pieces, and the biggest impact was the flowers my husband brought in - they loved the flowers!
As with anything else - trial and error is the only way we will see what works and what does not, we are just waiting to see if the traffic yields further interest in what we have to offer.
But at the same time the bigger picture was helping others that are in need, more than what I am selling at this time.
