Digital Photo Frame

by JoAnne Green
(Marion, AL)

I was buying a Christmas Present for my father when I realized what a great idea it would be for my Jewelry Booth. The price of digital photo frames is declining. I found the 7 inch frame, which actually shows a slightly smaller, but very viewable picture, to be the most economical.

The particular frame I chose allows me to vary the length of time that each picture is shown, the way the picture changes, the orientation of the photo, and most importantly: it accepts a variety of memory cards as well as a usb flash drive. I was pleasantly suprised to find that it also played mp3 music.

Just imagine how many people will be drawn to the music and the movement of the screen as the photos change. I created jpg images using Adobe PhotoShop SE and a variety of backgrounds and seasonal photos to display messages about stocking stuffers, Christmas presents, Free Boxes, etc. I showed a picture of a piece on half the image and a short statement about the stones or crystals used, etc.

Be careful not to have your sound so loud as to disturb others and choose your music carefully for your customer base.

Great Idea!

What a great way to use technology! I love the idea for advertising and giving tips about your business without having extra signs and such when you can be displaying more jewelry! Thanks!

digital photo frame

Joanne,
Thank you for sharing this GREAT idea. I had a digital photo frame sitting around that I had not had a chance to play with. Your inspiration has created a whole new outlook for me. I took you up on your suggestion and I too use it to display the work I have created at my craft shows. It even draws the men's attention (since it is electronic). I make sure I give you credit for this great idea everytime someone tells me how cleaver it is. YOU DESERVE THE CREDIT!!! I also use it while I am designing so I have a picture right at my workstation. Thanks for the Great Idea

But what if you don't have electricity?
by: Katie

This is such a great idea - I have been thinking about doing the same thing - but I mostly do outdoor shows. And they don't have electricity. SO I have been looking for several months for frames that run on batteries - so far no luck!! If anyone has a lead on how to find the battery-run ones, Puh-leeeze email me at info@fireblessedart.com! thank you
